Abstract
This study explores how female university students in Taekwondo demonstration teams construct and negotiate their identities while performing multiple roles―performer, athlete, and student. Using Social Identity Theory as the analytical framework, the study investigates how gendered expectations and organizational norms shape identity formation within a performance-centered martial arts group. Based on qualitative research, in-depth interviews were conducted with eight female Taekwondo practitioners from university demonstration teams. Through thematic analysis, the study identified three major themes: (1) identity conflicts and emotional fatigue arising from balancing multiple roles, (2) gendered expectations within the team that led to self-monitoring and emotional control, and (3) attempts by participants to reconstruct their identities by distancing themselves from rigid norms. The findings suggest that identity formation among female Taekwondo practitioners is a dynamic process influenced by sociocultural structures and gendered power relations. This research contributes to understanding identity negotiation in sport and offers implications for building more gender-sensitive and inclusive sports environments.

Abstract
This study aimed to compare body composition, lower-limb circumferences (thigh and calf), and muscle function among community-dwelling elderly women residing in urban and rural areas. A total of 332 women aged 65-80 years participated in this study and were classified into an urban group (UG, n = 144) and a rural group (RG, n = 188). Body composition (skeletal muscle mass, skeletal muscle index, body fat percentage, and extracellular water-to-total body water ratio), lower-limb circumferences (thigh and calf), and muscle function (handgrip strength and isometric knee extension strength) were measured and compared. The UG showed significantly higher skeletal muscle mass and skeletal muscle index, and lower body fat percentage compared with the RG. Lower-limb circumference values were also significantly greater in the UG, indicating better muscle development in the lower extremities. In muscle function, the UG demonstrated significantly higher handgrip strength and isometric knee extension strength than the RG, indicating regional differences in physical performance. Elderly women in rural areas exhibited lower muscle mass, smaller lower-limb circumferences, and reduced muscle strength relative to their urban counterparts, which may indicate a less favorable profile in muscle function indices. These findings indicate that sarcopenia-related indices (muscle mass, circumferences, and strength) were lower in the rural group than in the urban group.

Abstract
The purpose of this study is to explore in depth the life experiences and meanings of mid-career retired athletes who strived to secure occupations as public officials in non-sports-related fields. For this purpose, a narrative inquiry was employed, conducting in-depth interviews with three retired athletes currently serving as public officials in non-athletic sectors. The results are as follows: First, it was found that all participants experienced severe career barriers for various reasons during their post-retirement career transition process. Second, despite the serious lack of basic academic abilities caused by the lack of proper class participation during their years as student-athletes, they were able to overcome this in a short period during the exam preparation process they started as adults. Third, the diverse experiences of challenge, goal-orientation, and exceptional physical strength cultivated during their athletic careers became important resources in their lives as examinees. Fourth, all three participants shared the commonality of accepting and actively utilizing career information they happened to encounter by chance as an opportunity for a new career transition. These results indicate the need to discover and research more stories of mid-career retired athletes overcoming various career barriers and successful cases of career transition into diverse fields. Furthermore, it was learned that the career transition of retired athletes should never be left solely to individual will and effort, and that the development of various policy supports and educational programs is essential for career transitions not only into physical education and sports fields but also into various non-athletic fields.

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to explore the actual roles performed by youth football coaches and reinterpret coaching expertise beyond a skill-centered perspective. Four coaches working in elite youth football programs were selected through purposive sampling and participated in semi-structured in-depth interviews. All participants were former players, and their coaching experience ranged from 2 to 13 years; they were responsible for different age groups, including U-12, U-15, and U-18 teams. Each interview lasted over 60 minutes and was supplemented with follow-up interviews and field notes when necessary. Interview transcripts were analyzed using Braun and Clarke’s (2006) thematic analysis procedures, with credibility ensured through peer debriefing and member checks. The analysis identified three major roles in youth coaching. First, the educator role involved moral guidance, motivational support, and instructional design, highlighting that players’ attitudes, emotions, and engagement form the foundation for technical learning. Second, the managerial role encompassed scheduling, administrative work, scouting, and maintaining team climate. Third, the supporter role included tactical feedback through video analysis, monitoring athletes’ emotional and psychological states, and providing informal mentoring and psychosocial support.

Abstract
This study aimed to examine the effect of stress mindset on stress-related growth among office workers participating in leisure sports and to verify the mediating role of leisure constraints negotiation in this relationship. A self-administered questionnaire survey was conducted with 202 office workers residing in Seoul who participated in sports-type leisure activities at least once a month. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS 29.0 for descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, and reliability testing, and AMOS 21.0 was employed to conduct a confirmatory factor analysis (CFA). In addition, the mediating effect was examined using Hayes’ PROCESS Macro Model 4. The results indicated that, first, stress mindset had a significant positive effect on leisure constraints negotiation. Second, leisure constraints negotiation positively influenced stress-related growth. Third, stress mindset also had a direct positive effect on stress-related growth. Fourth, leisure constraints negotiation functioned as a mediating mechanism in the relationship between stress mindset and stress-related growth. These findings demonstrate that office workers’ participation in leisure sports can facilitate growth experiences through cognitive and behavioral processes of interpreting and managing stress. This study provides theoretical foundations for understanding office workers’ leisure experiences and offers insights into identifying environmental and psychological conditions that support positive stress appraisal and sustained leisure participation.

Abstract
This study aims to examine the strategic operations of front offices in Korean professional sports clubs and to explore the potential structural changes and organizational-cultural conditions required for the adoption of Palantir’s integrated data analytics platform. To achieve this, a focus group interview was conducted with six specialists, and the qualitative data collected were examined by thematic analysis. The findings demonstrate that front offices in domestic sports clubs face structural constraints, including experience-driven decision-making, disjointed interdepartmental information exchanges, and a lack of a quantitative assessment framework. Conversely, Palantir’s ontology architecture and AIP system amalgamate problem definition, logic formulation, execution, and feedback into a cohesive framework, facilitating standardized decision-making and automated execution. Notably, the platform’s structure, which allows practitioners to independently design and implement decision logic, presents a practical alternative to traditional hierarchical decision-making systems. This study also highlights the potential tensions that may arise when a technology-driven management structure is applied to sports organizations, which are typically governed by emotional judgment and symbolic assets. It further proposes a gradual implementation model and a reconfiguration of decision-making authority as practical strategies for enabling effective organizational adaptation.

Abstract
This study examined the moderating effect of leisure sport experience on the relationship between economic stress and existence in older adults. The participants were 253 older adults who regularly engaged in leisure sports. Results indicated that economic stress negatively affected existence, whereas leisure sport experience had a positive effect. Moreover, leisure sport experience moderated the relationship between economic stress and existence. These findings suggest that leisure sports can enhance the quality of life for older adults by alleviating stress and promoting existential recovery, even under economic constraints. In particular, leisure sports function as a practical welfare resource that contributes to the formation of positive experiences and provides a social and psychological foundation that enhances emotional stability across daily life. In conclusion, the results indicate the necessity of incorporating strategies that encourage participation in leisure sports alongside economic support when designing policies and programs for older adults.

Abstract
This study examined the relationships among coping flexibility, sport flow, and burnout in combat sports athletes, with the aim of establishing theoretical foundations for enhancing coping flexibility within sport contexts. A survey was administered to 298 athletes registered with the Korea Sports Council, and data from valid responses were subjected to statistical analysis. The results indicated that psychological strategies and situational evaluation, as subfactors of coping flexibility, exerted positive effects on sport flow, whereas behavioral change did not demonstrate a significant effect. Behavioral change showed a positive association with devaluation of sports, a subfactor of burnout, while psychological strategies and situational evaluation were negatively associated with this burnout dimension. No subfactor of coping flexibility exhibited a significant effect on physical/mental exhaustion. In contrast, psychological strategies and situational evaluation were found to negatively influence reduced sense of accomplishment. Furthermore, sport flow demonstrated significant negative effects on all subfactors of burnout, suggesting its protective role in alleviating athlete burnout. Taken together, these findings underscore the importance of coping flexibility in facilitating sport flow and mitigating burnout, and they contribute to a deeper understanding of the psychological mechanisms underlying athletes’ adaptation in competitive sport environments.

Abstract
This study comprehensively examined the effects of physical activity and movement-based interventions on pain reduction in older adults in Korea through a meta-analysis, analyzing differences by pain site and exercise type. A total of 32 studies (N = 850) published between 2014 and 2023 were analyzed using Hedges’ g, heterogeneity (I²), publication bias (Egger’s test and trim-and-fill), and study quality assessment (TESTEX). The overall effect size was large (g = 1.234, 95% CI = 0.974- 1.493) but decreased to a moderate level after adjustment for publication bias (g = 0.427). Subgroup analyses showed significant pain reduction for low back, knee, shoulder, and multisite pain. By exercise type, combined(flexibility & Strength) exercise (g = 1.940), aerobic exercise (g = 1.595), and resistance training (g = 1.314) demonstrated large effects, whereas aquatic exercise showed a moderate effect (g = 0.368). Based on a conservative interpretation that considers publication bias and study quality, this study highlights the relative effectiveness of combined exercise for pain management in older adults and suggests its clinical applicability.
