Abstract
The purpose of the study was to investigate the effects of a 12-week small props Pilates on the physical fitness, cognitive function, and neurotrophic factors. Obese elderly women aged 65-75 yrs with a body fat percentage of 30% or more were randomly assigned to either a training group (TR) or the control group (CON). Participants in the TR (n=13) performed small props Pilates 60 min/session, 3 sessions/wk for 12 weeks, whereas participants in the CON (n=13) maintained their usual lifestyle. In pre- and post-test, dependent variables related to physical fitness, cognitive function, and neurotrophic factors were measured, and then compared between the two groups as well as between the two tests. Main results of the study were as follows: 1) Regarding body composition, the TR showed significant decreases in body mass index, waist circumference, and hip circumference. 2) Regarding physical fitness, the TR showed significant improvements in the 2-minute step test, the sit-and-reach test, and the figure-of-eight walk test. 3) Regarding cognitive function, the TR showed significant improvements in the results of the CIST test and the Stroop test. 4) Regarding the neurotrophic factors, the TR showed a significant increase in IGF-1 levels and non significant increment in BDNF. It was concluded that the 12-week small props Pilates program would contribute to improvements in body composition, physical fitness, cognitive function, and neurotrophic factors.

Abstract
This study investigated the discourse on violence in the Korean elite sport system, a pressing social issue that has garnered increasing public attention in recent years. Unstructured texts containing the keywords ‘sports sector’ and ‘violence’ were collected from Naver, Daum, and Google between January 1, 2022 and December 31, 2024. Using TEXTOM24 and UCINET6, frequency analysis, TF-IDF, and CONCOR analysis were conducted to identify key terms and cluster structures. First, the frequency analysis revealed high occurrences of keywords such as violence, sports sector, sports, athlete, human rights, school, education, physical education, incident and center. Second, TF-IDF analysis highlighted the relative importance of terms such as sports, human rights, education, athlete, school, physical education, violence, center, ethics and incident. Third, CONCOR analysis identified four key clusters within the discourse on sport violence: (1) Conflict and Victimization; (2) Education and Culture; (3) Sport and Investigation; and (4) Center and Ethics. The findings offer a structural understanding of the discourse on violence in the sports sector and serve as a foundational resource for developing practical strategies. These include improvements in policy design, institutional reform, preventive education, and the functional reinforcement of the Sport Ethics Center. The study thus contributes to both academic scholarship and social efforts aimed at eradicating violence in sport.

Abstract
This study examined the pickleball participation experiences of middle-aged and older adults in South Korea - a country that has recently entered a super-aged society. Selection, Optimization, and Compensation (SOC) model was used to guide the present study. In-depth, semi-structured interviews were conducted with 15 participants aged 50 and older who regularly engage in pickleball. Data were analyzed by using Giorgi’s (1985) phenomenological method. The findings revealed that participants ‘selected’ pickleball as a new activity in response to aging-related physical limitations and injury concerns. They employed ‘optimization’ strategies such as changing daily routines, engaging in consistent practice, and performing stretching and supplementary exercises. In addition, they utilized ‘compensation’ strategies, including seeking external support (e.g., learning, digital technology) and using skills from prior sports experiences. These results suggest that the SOC model serves not only as a passive coping mechanism for aging but also as an active strategy for structuring leisure engagement and enhancing quality of life. We suggest that Pickleball - an accessible and emerging sport - has a potential to promote successful aging among the middle-aged and older population. This study further provides useful resources for leisure policies, sport program development, and strategic interventions aimed at improving the quality of life in later adulthood.

Abstract
This study analyzed 170 articles on athlete recovery published in Korean academic journals between 2010 and 2024 using text mining techniques to identify research trends and future directions. Methods included yearly and society-based distributions, word frequency and TF-IDF analyses, semantic network analysis, LDA topic modeling, and CONCOR analysis. Results showed that 65% of the articles were published in the past five years (2020-2024), indicating growing academic interest. Key terms such as “recovery,” “resilience,” “heart rate,” and “lactate” highlighted both physiological and psychological themes. LDA revealed three topics―physiological recovery and training, game-related factors, and psychological-emotional recovery―while CONCOR produced four clusters: physiological recovery and performance management, training and game management, psychological factors, and injury management with resilience. These findings demonstrate a shift in domestic recovery research from fragmented approaches toward multidimensional and integrative perspectives. Future studies should emphasize practical applications, such as sport-specific recovery indices and field use of psychological recovery tools. This study is limited by its focus on domestic literature and traditional physiological indicators, excluding molecular and genetic-level approaches. Broader, multilayered analyses incorporating international data are therefore needed.

Abstract
This study aims to investigate the determinants of fitness participants’ behavioral intention to adopt AI-based fitness services by applying the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT), and to examine the moderating effect of Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) on these relationships. The sample comprised adult men and women aged 20 and above who regularly engage in fitness activities; data were collected via an online questionnaire. A total of 280 valid responses were obtained and subjected to analysis. Using SPSS and SMART-PLS software, we conducted descriptive statistics, validity and reliability assessments, confirmatory factor analysis, and structural equation modeling to test the causal relationships among the study variables. The results revealed first, that performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, and facilitating conditions exerted significant positive effects on participants’ behavioral intention to adopt AI-based fitness services. Second, while FOMO did not moderate the relationships between performance expectancy, effort expectancy, or facilitating conditions and behavioral intention, it did significantly moderate the link between social influence and adoption intention. By integrating FOMO―a psychosocial variable―into the UTAUT framework, this research makes an empirical contribution by elucidating how cognitive, environmental, and psychological factors interactively influence the acceptance of AI-based fitness technologies.

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of an 8-week integrated foot muscle strengthening program on arch height, toe strength, hallux range of motion (ROM), balance, and foot pain in older women exhibiting hallux malalignment. A total of 20 older women classified as being at risk for hallux valgus (hallux valgus angle ≥15°) were randomly assigned to either an exercise group (n=10) or a control group (n=10). The exercise group participated in a supervised integrated strengthening program for intrinsic and extrinsic foot muscles, twice a week for 50 minutes per session over 8 weeks. Outcome measures included the navicular drop test, toe strength, hallux ROM, functional reach test, and VAS. Statistical analyses were conducted using SPSS WIN 28.0, including independent t-tests, paired t-tests, ANCOVA, and Pearson’s correlation analysis. The results showed that the exercise group demonstrated statistically significant improvements in both dominant and non-dominant foot arch height (p<.01), toe strength (p<.01), hallux ROM (p<.001, p<.01), and balance (p<.05, p<.01) and the improvement in dominant foot arch height remained significant after adjusting for baseline values (p<.01). Furthermore, a significant positive correlation was found between arch height and other dependent variables in the exercise group (p<.01). The findings of this study suggest that integrated foot muscle exercise is effective in improving structural and functional foot capacity as well as balance in older women at risk for hallux valgus, and may serve as a useful intervention strategy for enhancing foot function impaired by aging.

Abstract
Regional sports events, regional sports facilities, and winter training camps are interdependent, collectively forming the cornerstone for sustainable growth within the regional sports industry. Regional sports facilities serve as essential infrastructure for attracting sports events and winter training camps, which, in turn, generate economic value and social vitality for the region. This revenue and activity then cycles back, supporting the expansion and operational improvement of these facilities. Consequently, to formulate strategies for sustainable regional sports industry growth, this study focused on analyzing these three critical elements. The research methodology involved collecting data from 2022 to 2024 using Textom, followed by text mining and CONCOR analysis.
The analysis revealed four clusters for regional sports events, eight for regional sports facilities, and four for winter training camps. In conclusion, regional sports events are evolving into multifaceted content centered on stimulating local economies and cultures, while winter training camps function as regional economic promotion strategies focused on attracting teams and providing practical, competition-oriented content. Sports facilities, moreover, play a pivotal role as key infrastructure, integrating with youth sports, community sports, and sports tourism.
In conclusion, the local sports industry can serve as a sustainable model for strengthening regional identity and stimulating economic growth through an integrated approach encompassing events, training, and facilities. To support this, it is essential to establish long-term policies driven by local governments and foster a collaborative governance framework involving both public and private sectors.

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to analyze differences in exercise participation motivation among individuals with physical disabilities according to exercise participation types (aquatic, land-based individual, and land-based group). The study included 70 adults with physical disabilities aged 20 and older residing in Seoul, Incheon, and Gyeonggi Province, divided into aquatic exercise participants (n=34) and land-based exercise participants (individual exercise: n=19, group exercise: n=17). Exercise participation motivation was measured using the MPAM-R (Motives for Physical Activity Measure-Revised), which consists of five sub-factors: fitness, appearance, competence/challenge, social, and enjoyment. After confirming normality, independent samples t-tests and one-way ANOVA were conducted to compare the three groups. Results showed no significant differences in fitness, appearance, and competence/challenge factors among exercise types (p>.05). However, the aquatic exercise group demonstrated significantly higher scores than both land-based group and individual exercise participants in social motivation (F=6.42, p=.003) and enjoyment motivation (F=7.15, p=.001). These findings suggest that exercise type and participation mode significantly influence social and emotional motivation in individuals with physical disabilities, indicating the need for an integrated approach that considers not only functional recovery but also social interaction and emotional satisfaction in designing exercise programs for people with physical disabilities.

Abstract
This study was to apply self-determination theory perspective to examine the relations between learning climate, psychological need satisfaction and frustration, and aggression in physical education(PE) context. Through a survey study, we examined how teacher instructional behaviors are related to adolescents’ aggression via two mediators - psychological needs satisfaction and frustration. Student participants(n=226) from middle and high schools in Seouland Gyeonggi-do were asked to complete a set of questionnaire. Our findings demonstrated that PE teachers’ autonomy-supportive instructional behavior was related to both need satisfaction and need frustration, which in turn predicted student aggression. Need frustration, relative to need satisfaction was a stronger and unique predictor of aggression among adolescents. Controlling instructional behavior was only related to the experience of need frustration, not need satisfaction. The relation between teacher control and student aggression was fully mediated by students’ experience of need frustration. These findings help PE teachers understand how more autonomy-supportive and less controlling learning climate can prevent and reduce student aggression in PE context.
